Restoration project of a historic garden in Brianza
The recovery intervention consisted in valorising the park and Italian garden of Villa Cusani, to give back to the citizens a place with a well-recognizable historical-cultural identity.
Alongside the restoration of the vegetation, the project aimed to improve the possibility of using the park with the creation of paved paths to allow easy access for disabled people.
The intervention also involved the architectural and artistic artefacts present, with the restoration of the access door from via Caprotti, of the ancient stone statues located in various points of the garden and of the leaded windows of the former Oratory of S. Maria Maddalena. In particular, alongside the necessary extraordinary maintenance interventions, the project saw the creation of new plantations to integrate the existing box hedges, aimed at completing and enhancing the existing formal system, in the so-called ‘Italian Garden’.
